Linh Tran has won just about everything there is to win in table football. A multiple world champion, she is the first woman to make a living from the sport as a professional. Yet the more successful she becomes, the more pressing the question becomes: what’s it all for, really?

In her autobiography *Aus dem Handgelenk – Why I Had to Become a World Champion at Table Football* (Edel Sports, 2 September 2026), the world’s best female table football player recounts a career that was never planned this way, the pressure to perform from her family, and a life straddling two cultures. With great candour, she recounts her search for an answer to the question: ‘When am I good enough?’ And how, at an absolute low point, she set out on a journey of self-discovery.

*Aus dem Handgelenk* is the story of a woman who had to learn that strength does not lie in simply carrying on – but in questioning one’s own standards and thus stopping the constant battle against oneself.

On the evening of the event, Linh Tran will be reading from the book alongside the multi-award-winning journalist and author Mara Pfeiffer. In conversation, the two will discuss the stories behind the chapters – covering themes of heritage, female empowerment and mental health. This will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience and a book signing.
