From 6.30 pm: Echoes of Anatolia

Echoes of Anatolia is a band from Koblenz that blends Anatolian music with psychedelic rock and funk. The focus is on traditional Turkish folk songs and the music of great folk poets such as Aşık Veysel – reinterpreted and blended with Western influences from psychedelic rock and funk.

The four musicians have known each other for more than 20 years. They grew up in Koblenz, have Turkish roots and have been making music together since their youth. In their families, music was a natural part of everyday life, and this influence remains with them to this day.

With Echoes of Anatolia, they bring two musical worlds together. Anatolian melodies and stories meet psychedelic sounds, funk grooves and plenty of scope for improvisation. This gives rise to original arrangements that preserve the character of traditional music whilst placing it in a new musical context.

Echoes of Anatolia aims to bring to the stage a kind of music that is still relatively rare to hear in Germany. For the band, it is not just about combining different musical styles, but also about what emerges between them – shaped by their own history, spanning Koblenz and their Anatolian roots.

From 8.00 pm: NERVLING

NERVLING are an extraordinary singer-songwriter duo from Hamburg who have created a sound all of their own with their blend of pop, soul, reggae and folk. Using an acoustic guitar, a loop station and two distinctive voices, they create the sound of a full band when performing live – energetic, creative and full of emotion.

Their songs tell stories from all over the world: inspired by a 15-month journey through 22 countries, NERVLING blend musical influences with personal experiences and a great love of performing.

Sometimes danceable, sometimes calm and moving – their concerts are characterised by a close connection with the audience, spontaneity and an infectious positive energy. An evening that moves you, surprises you and simply puts you in a good mood.
