Stiftung Kultur Palast

Culture, Local Identity, Integration

As a non-profit organisation, we are particularly committed to supporting young people from all over the world who are looking for a new home in Hamburg. We reach them through music and dance – a universal language – that needs no words: early musical education for children from six months old to foster their social, cognitive and linguistic skills; hip hop as a culture that conveys values and inspires children, teenagers and young adults aged between six and 25 in particular.

Who we are

The Kultur Palast Foundation works in Hamburg and beyond the city’s borders to promote peaceful coexistence among people of all nationalities within an urban society. Culture, as a universal language, is used as a vehicle for conveying values such as community, respect, appreciation and non-violence.

What we do

As a non-profit organisation, we are particularly committed to supporting young people from all over the world who are seeking a home in Hamburg. We reach them through music and dance – a universal language – that needs no words. Early musical education for children from six months of age to foster their social, cognitive and language skills; hip hop as a culture that conveys values, appealing in particular to children, teenagers and young adults aged between six and 25.

Why we do this

In a world marked by war, where around 122 million people (source: UNHCR 2024) are fleeing violence, hunger and persecution, it is important to us to give young people, in particular, the best possible opportunities to lead successful lives.

What is the Kultur Palast?

To this day, in outlying areas of Hamburg such as Billstedt, there are not enough opportunities to provide disadvantaged groups – particularly children and young people – with access to culture and education. The Stiftung Kultur Palast  aims to change this and establish a sustainable, high-quality programme of cultural support.

We aim to tap into Hamburg’s untapped potential and thereby facilitate the development of young talent and educational opportunities, regardless of an individual’s background.
For 45 years, the Stiftung Kultur Palast has therefore been committed to cultural participation and the development of young talent in Billstedt, across Hamburg and internationally.
