1,000 children at the 13th Klangstrolche Summit
HAMBURG As soon as KiKa presenter Juri Tetzlaff and children’s song composer Rolf Zuckowski came on stage and sang their songs together with the children, hardly anyone could stay in their seat for more than a metre. And the adults in the audience joined in enthusiastically too, as Juri led them in dancing an ‘E’ and then a ‘U’ from a deep squat. Nela (5), who had come with her mum even though she isn’t a ‘Klangstrolch’ yet, thought the concert had ‘really good music and the dancing was great too!’ In short: the concert was once again a resounding success.
Don’t be daunted by the temple of classical music
Once a year, all the children taking part in the Stiftung Kultur Palast project ‘Klangstrolche – Music for Every Child’ come together for a charity concert at the Laeiszhalle. This big event is a real hit with children aged three to ten. It all kicked off with a warm-up outside the concert hall. Drum master Bouba Fall got everyone moving with songs from his native Africa – the children sang along loudly with Bouba as they made their way together into the Grand Hall of the Laeiszhalle. There was no sign of shyness in the face of this temple of classical music; on the day of the summit, the Laeiszhalle was firmly in the hands of the children.

RADAU! got the party going
This year’s musical highlight was the children’s rock band RADAU! Their concerts are a real treat for children and adults alike. With plenty of action, they tackle the exciting themes of everyday life for children and families – and it’s ‘guaranteed recorder-free’; after all, RADAU! is a rock band. The ‘Gipfeltreffen’ traditionally celebrates music in all its forms, whether classical, rock or pop, children’s songs or folk songs. Afterwards, anyone who fancied it could try out some exciting instruments at the Klangstrolche stand outside the Laeiszhalle. Funny: some of the little ones kept joining the queue again and again until their nursery group urged them to leave. A concert experience full of music and joie de vivre for the very youngest.
